FAQs
What are your Rates?
Individual Therapy: $150 per 50 minute session
Consultation:$150 per hour
How often should I go to therapy?
The frequency of therapy sessions varies depending on individual needs, therapy goals, the nature of the issues being addressed, and the therapeutic approach. At DEM we believe that starting with weekly sessions and then adjusting according to what we agree in collaboration accommodates you and your needs.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions usually average 50 minutes in length.
Is everything confidential?
In therapy, confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship, ensuring that what you share with your therapist remains private. This confidentiality is protected by ethical codes and laws that apply to mental health professionals. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule where a therapist might be legally required to break confidentiality:
Risk of Harm: If there is a credible threat of harm to yourself or others, therapists may need to take steps to prevent harm, which could involve disclosing information to the relevant authorities or individuals at risk.
Abuse or Neglect: Therapists are mandated reporters, which means they must report cases of suspected child abuse, elder abuse, or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
Legal Proceedings: In some cases, mental health records can be subpoenaed by a court of law, requiring therapists to release information in the context of legal proceedings.
Supervision or Consultation: Therapists may discuss cases with supervisors or consultants as part of their professional practice, but this is typically done in a way that protects your identity.

A credit card is required on file for ongoing sessions
To ensure a gratifying experience and cater to everyone's needs, I request a 24-hour notice for appointment cancellations. This allows me to maintain appointment availability for those seeking assistance. In the event of cancellations made within less than 24 hours, the agreed-upon late cancellation fee will be charged.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. By law, health care providers must give patients who are without or not using insurance, an estimate of expected charges for all services, including psychotherapy.
You will receive this Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including therapy. You can ask your healthcare provider for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling a service.
If you receive a bill, at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
